Method
Preheat Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or butter.
Cook the Beef
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt, pepper, and optional Italian herbs.
Add Tomato Sauce
- Pour tomato sauce over the beef and simmer for 5–10 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Prepare the Layers
- Spread a thin layer of beef and tomato sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
- Add a layer of lasagna sheets.
- Spread a layer of béchamel sauce over the pasta.
- Sprinkle some grated Parmesan.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with béchamel and a generous layer of Parmesan on top.
Bake the Lasagna
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
Serve
- Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy the layers of cheesy, meaty goodness.
